A high-floor South Yarra apartment with floor-to-ceiling windows required motorised double roller blinds — sunscreen during the day, blockout at night — all controlled via smartphone.
Floor-to-ceiling glazing is spectacular, but it also means full sun exposure from dawn to dusk. The owner of this South Yarra apartment needed a solution that could handle everything from glare management to full privacy, without a forest of manual cords.
We specified motorised double roller blinds throughout: a sunscreen fabric facing the glass for daytime views and UV control, with a blockout fabric behind for sleeping and privacy. All motors were DC battery-powered to avoid any rewiring.
The whole system runs via smartphone app and integrates with the apartment's existing Google Home setup. The owner now wakes to blinds opening automatically at 7am — a detail they describe as "genuinely life-changing".
