A Victorian terrace in Northcote had beautiful bifold doors opening to the garden — but the family couldn't open them in summer without the house filling with flies and mosquitoes. We installed pleated retractable fly screens across all three openings.
Victorian terraces weren't designed with bifold doors in mind, but this Northcote renovation had introduced three large openings to the rear garden. The result was spectacular — until summer, when the insects made outdoor living impossible.
We installed pleated retractable fly screens across all three bifold door openings. The pleated system was the right choice for openings of this size: it handles spans over 3 metres without the sag or rattle you can get with standard roll-away screens.
When retracted, the screens are virtually invisible — a slim cassette sits flush against the door frame. The family was initially sceptical that anything could both work well and look good. They've since referred three neighbours.
